If a life treating injury befell to a loved one, would you know what to do?
This course will introduce you to the five most common threats threats to life Americans face in their day-to-day lives and how to stabilize each until professional help can arrive. Medical interventions for cardiac emergencies, motor vehicle and industrial accidents, strokes, poisons, and basic diabetes care will be covered.
Each section teaches by getting students up and out of their chairs and guides them though a real-life scenario that can be explored at their own pace. The course stresses the importance of scene size-up and clinical decision making under stress to build confidence and encourage bystanders to promptly engage threats to life with simple, low-risk interventions.
